A photography retreat led by contributing National Geographic photographer in the great outdoors of Jackson Hole, WY

This comprehensive workshop is designed to make you a better photographer by helping you to understand the fundamentals of how to create better images. You will learn how to tell a story with your photographs, how to capture a moment, and how to create enduring images through a better understanding of light and composition.

Daily workshops will address the fundamentals of photography through classroom instruction, field work and assignments, image critique and portfolio review, and digital workflow. Topics that will be covered include creating a sense of place, lighting and composition, storytelling, wildlife, landscapes, and the art of travel photography.

Who Should Participate:

The workshop is aimed at amateur photographers who are a beginner to intermediate (or advanced) in their skillset with a working knowledge of the basic features of their cameras and a desire to take their photography to the next level.

What’s included:

  • The tuition includes 5 nights of, lodging at the luxuriously appointed craftsman log lodge – The Bentwood Inn.
  • Each participant will get their own room and may bring a spouse or another non-participant guest, depending on space, at a rate of $600, inclusive of meals.
  • The Bentwood Inn will host an opening reception with appetizers, wine and dinner on the day of arrival and again on the final evening of the Photography Retreat.
  • All breakfasts are prepared and served at the Bentwood Inn. Arrangements can be made to have a “boxed” breakfast prepared no earlier than 6:30a.
  • All other meals will be up to participants to purchase during the retreat. Although eating together is not required it is encouraged since it will be a great time for discussion and festive camaraderie.
  • Transportation is not included. Please make your travel arrangements to and from the airport. Participants are responsible for travel to and from the workshop and other instruction locations.

Payment Terms & Cancellation Policy
A $500 deposit required at time of booking for one guest participant. Reservations can be made by calling the innkeepers at Bentwood Inn at 307-739-1411. All major credit cards are accepted. Deposit becomes non-refundable after August 1, 2019. Any cancellations made 60 or more days prior are subject to a $150 cancellation fee per guest participant booked. Cancellations made 30 days or less from arrival date, forfeit all monies paid, no exceptions unless participant can find someone to take his or her spot. We highly recommend trip insurance, check with your current insurance provider. Final payment due September 15, 2019. 

If the workshop is canceled by the program instructor or because the minimum guest registration is not met 90 days prior, your deposit will be refunded. 

*Priced per guest participant, single occupancy. Taxes and gratuities not included. Opportunity to share rooms with a non-participant guest available at $600 surcharge plus tax – space is limited. Shared room surcharge for guest participating in photography retreat is $1,200. Deposit for two guest participants is $1000; for a participant and non-participant guest,sharing a room, the deposit required is $750.
